Yes! All DELUXE lubricants are formulated with 100% virgin base oils. We never use re-refined or recycled base oils. This ensures:

  • Superior purity and consistency
  • Better oxidation stability
  • Extended drain intervals
  • Maximum engine protection

DELUXE manufactures a complete portfolio of lubrication products:

  • Gear Oils - API GL-4/GL-5 in SAE 80W90, 85W140, 90, 140
  • Automatic Transmission Fluids (ATF) - Dexron II, Dexron III
  • Hydraulic Oils - ISO VG 32, 46, 68
  • Grease - NLGI 2 lithium complex
  • Brake Fluids - DOT-3, DOT-4
  • Coolants - Radiator coolant/antifreeze

Technical Specifications

API (American Petroleum Institute) service categories indicate oil performance levels:

  • API SP - Current standard for gasoline engines (turbocharger protection, LSPI prevention)
  • API CK-4 - Current standard for heavy-duty diesel engines (high-temperature stability, wear protection)
  • API CI-4/CH-4/CF-4 - Previous diesel standards, still widely used
  • API GL-4/GL-5 - Gear oil standards for transmissions and differentials

SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) viscosity grades indicate oil thickness:

  • Multi-grade oils (e.g., 5W30, 15W40) - The "W" stands for winter, indicating cold-start performance
  • Lower first number (5W, 10W) = better cold-start flow
  • Higher second number (30, 40, 50) = thicker at high temperatures for better protection
  • Monograde oils (SAE 30, SAE 40, SAE 50) - Single viscosity, used in specific applications

Choose viscosity based on your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations and operating conditions.

Synthetic Oil - Chemically engineered for superior performance:

  • Better flow at low temperatures
  • Higher resistance to thermal breakdown
  • Longer drain intervals
  • Better fuel economy

Mineral Oil - Refined from crude oil:

  • Cost-effective for older engines
  • Suitable for standard driving conditions
  • Recommended for classic cars and certain equipment

Applications & Usage

Always check your vehicle owner's manual for the manufacturer's recommendation. General guidelines:

  • Modern gasoline cars - DELUXE 5W30 or 5W40 API SP full synthetic
  • Older gasoline cars - DELUXE 20W50 API SN mineral or semi-synthetic
  • Modern diesel trucks - DELUXE 15W40 API CK-4
  • Older diesel engines - DELUXE 15W40 or 20W50 API CI-4/CH-4
  • High-mileage vehicles - DELUXE 25W60 for extra protection

While diesel oils can provide excellent protection, it's best to use the oil type recommended by your vehicle manufacturer. Diesel oils (like API CK-4) have higher detergent levels that may not be optimal for gasoline engines with different emission systems. DELUXE offers dedicated PCMO products optimized for gasoline engines.

Oil change intervals depend on oil type and driving conditions:

  • Full Synthetic - 7,500 - 10,000 miles (12,000 - 16,000 km) or 12 months
  • Semi-Synthetic - 5,000 - 7,500 miles (8,000 - 12,000 km) or 6-8 months
  • Mineral Oil - 3,000 - 5,000 miles (5,000 - 8,000 km) or 6 months
  • Severe Conditions (towing, extreme temperatures, short trips) - Change more frequently

Always follow your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.
